"Slate's" Kaus on NPR says Brokaw or Buffet could run as Candidates
Was listening to discussion about Dean's Foreign Policy Speech on NPR in care with someone from Heritage Foundation and another person (sorry) didn't get name (but assume it was a Dem). Had to run errands so didn't hear the whole thing, but at the end they talked to Mickey Kaus who mentioned the WaPo article about Political Parties becoming irrelevant since the internet. He said people have the ability to find others who support their political ideologies on the Net and this means the Parties Control over their lists is irrelavant today. It can all be done over the Internet as Dean's Campaign has proven.

He said that he expected a "Third Party Candidate" for 2004. He said could be Dean if he ran behind in the Polls or it could be Warren Buffet or Tom Brokaw (I assume for the Repugs). He said that would be Perot-like.

Interesting.

3. Frankly, I thought his statement was "off the wall" but don't read him so
didn't have any background to base it on. For some reason I thought he was a "winger" from his name mentioned here on DU but I only read Kinsley's articles if they are posted here on DU and have not followed Kaus.
