We all know that George Bush, Inc. is shaking in its jackboots at the thought of Saddam Hussein testifying freely and openly during a trial broadcast live around the world. Hussein possesses secrets that could destroy the reputations of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld, among others, and fuel even more anti-U.S. hatred around the world.
So why didn't the big dummy record these secrets, make several copies, and use them as a weapon before and during Gulf War II? He could have made world headlines with the statement, "If the United States attacks Iraq, my administration will release classified information that is highly embarrassing to the United States in general and to the Republican Party in particular. A new chapter will be released during every day of the war."
But Saddam didn't use his most vicious weapon, and there's apparently no evidence that records have been preserved that are safe from the U.S. Gestapo. Can you spell S-T-U-P-I-D?
Still, there are certainly other Iraqi officials who have knowledge of some of these scandals. And there are certainly people in other nations who have knowledge of similar scandals.
Isn't it amazing how such dark, powerful secrets can remain... well, secret?
Of course, this is presumably one of the reasons U.S. forces are such bastards, detaining people in solitary confinement with no contact with attorneys or loved ones. They don't want them to share their secrets with the world.
I just find it utterly amazing that foreign leaders are such children when it comes to propaganda. They have enormous powers over the U.S. that they don't exploit.
