a theoretical question

Since we- as a country- and even as a 2 party system- seem to have gotten slightly insane of late, my question is this: would it be better to let somebody completely objective select our presidential candidate for 004? I mean, somebody perhaps who lives outside the US, and isn't being continually exposed to the spin. obviously this just a theoretical question, but is there anybody trustworthy, not living in the United States who you think would have an idea about who has the best chance of winning? :-)

I somehow doubt that anyone in this country would like the idea of another country choosing our leaders for us, even though we are doing that over in Iraq.

I live in Norway, and I think that Wesley Clark has the best shot by far. I would prefer Dean, but I think Clark will fare better.

Do you think Marlon Brando should single-handidly choose our nominee?

On a different tact, I had a politics professor who believed that states should vote for Senators from other states on a random rotating basis. In other words, Ohio would have to choose Pennsylvania's Senator in 2004 and Texas would vote for that seat in 2010. She thought this would end the need to pork-barrel and also open up the races to more candidates.

Yes, well, thanks for clarifying something for me. First off, I think what I meant to ask for was input from Europeans, Canadians, and others who don't live in the United States. The one person who answered the question I was wondering about, is from Norway. I'm still very curious that you (Peeweethemadman)
think Clark has by far a better chance than Dean- is this a commonly held position in your opinion? I mean, and you didn't say Kerry, either.
