reporting on Iraq War and George Orwell
Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 06:51 PM by Eric J in MN
"One of the protests turned deadly and 3 Iraquis were killed."
ABC World News Tonight, December 16, 2003

"Americans opened fire in Ramadi and killed 3 protestors."
CBS Evening News, December 16, 2003

--------------------------------------------
George Orwell warned against using the passive tense to hide who did what.

ABC tonight used the passive tense to mislead viewers.

-----------------
ON EDIT: I was flipping the dial, and I'm not positive anymore whether the original quote was ABC or NBC. It was one of those 2 national evening news broadcasts.

I thought that Animal Farm was an indictment of communism?
