"Sperm donors cometh

Local sperm stocks are so low one clinic has sought a hand from Canada. Reproductive Medicine Albury placed ads in the University of Calgary newspaper this month offering to fly bountiful men to Australia for a minimum two-week holiday in exchange for their sperm. Donors, who must be aged between 18 and 40, in good health and able to pass blood and semen tests, will also receive free accommodation and expenses during their stay in return for deposits.

The clinic's program manager, Ruth Keat, said there was nothing special about Canadian sperm. "We just needed to cast the net a bit further because we're not getting enough response from Australian men." The clinic has attracted 15 offers from donors willing to come to Australia, she said."
