A (hopefully) interesting thought re: the breaking Kean story
I've noticed, in the last few days, a resergence of the whole Sudan-offered-bin-Laden-on-a-silver-platter canard. It started on Saturday, when I was arguing with my father (a diehard Bush ass-licker). Of course, Sunday's news put the issue on the back burner, but Monday, surfing sites with a pronouced political focus, I saw more and more posts dredging up the Sudan story.

With the Kean pronouncement (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check half the posts on DU), this trend seems to have gained some context. It seems like it's either a preemptive attempt by the Bush street team to deflect blame from Bush, or else part of a set-up to lay the blame on Clinton, if that's where the focus of the investigation is headed.

Any thoughts on which it might be? And, in the distinctly possible event that I might be going insane, has anyone else noticed the Sudan stroy popping up again lately? Can anyone trace its resurgence back to a media Ground Zero (e.g., Limbaugh, et. al)?

2. Well hopefully
if there's going to be renewed focus on this story then there is the possibility that the record might get set straight about that Clinton story.

Wait... what the fuck am I thinking? Never mind.

5. Small problem with that theory, though.
Clinton was out of office 9 months before the attack.

But I'd just love to hear the Big Dog say. "I have nothing to hide and I'm sure President Bush agrees that it is important for us to get to the bottom of issues with 9/11. It started long before George got in. I'd suggest George, George, Sr. and myself appear before the 9/11 commission, in a public forum, so we can let the American people understand everything that was known and what each administration did based on this nformation. We are all for transparent government and we have nothing to hide, so I'm sure 41 and 43 will join me in this."

4. i think you might be getting ahead of yourself
I believe the last thing Bush wants to do is start going into intelligence failures. He understands that if he but opens the lid a little, the velociraptor of truth will spring out.
