Saddam bounce too small, so media creates hidey-hole bounce....
Remember when Al Gore won debates, only to have Bush emerge the winner after a heavy dose of media spin? After the Saddam capture, the same thing happened. Bush's bounce after the capture was negligible, but after a few days of nothing on the tv news screen except the hidey-hole and Saddam being checked for lice, the desired Bush bounce was produced.

Jon Stewart, as he often does, exposed the unbelievable lunacy of this kind of media overkill to his viewers when he ran tape of a pant-suited MSNBC anchorwoman crawling inside an on-set replica of the hidey-hole, and then lying down, as Colonel Allard commentated --

1. Saw that last night...
pretty effing funny. I imagine next they'll have some intrepid reporter try to survive in an actual "hidey-hole" (that's the technical term, according to Colonel Allard) for 24 hours.
