Gov. Bush snubs newspaper in annual interview

Gov. Jeb Bush's office did not invite The Palm Beach Post to the governor's traditional end-of-the-year interviews with reporters, citing what they said was unprofessional behavior.

The governor scheduled three sessions Wednesday, each with a half-dozen reporters from newspapers and broadcast agencies that cover the Capitol. None of the Post's three Tallahassee reporters were invited to participate. The Post said it would send a reporter anyway.

"This is utter nonsense. It just seems to me that we would all be better served if the governor's office would simply let us do our job," said Post Editor Edward Sears.

Several writers, including the paper's Tallahassee bureau chief, Shirish Date, have written a series of articles that have exposed problems with the state's school voucher program.

What problems did they point out with the program? Aren't schools down in Florida not very good?

Hell, just think what would have happened to them if they'd printed pictures of the Imperial Daughters drunk and lesbianic...why in a Totalitarian Nation they'd probably have gotten murdered by anthrax in the mail or something.

That's more of a 2020 thing anyway, and Jeb's idiot son George P. Caligula will be just the man to do it.

Do they not realize they have a powerful tool? If a politician treats them badly, the media has a license to treat the politician badly. Why don't these papers use the tool they have?
