1. 95+% of the time, GOP Shill
But he has occasionally put Republicans on the spot. It doesn't happen often, and he never really follows up on future shows, but he's occasionally made a few of them squirm.

2. I agree...he leans way to the wrong side, but occasionally has his way
with the Rethuglicans...
I am really hoping that large dedicated groups of people putting pressure on the media to cover some real news and not just the fluffy distractions may help a little...
but I always was a very optimistic idealist...

8. Damnit,I'd give my left nut for a replay of that segment.....
Edited on Fri Dec-19-03 04:50 PM by OneTwentyoFive
I looked on BSNBC earlier but didn't see anything. I'll bet "nooner" Noonan couldn't believe what the FUCK just hit her. Every time I see that woman its usually a croon fest over Reagan or some other Repig with NO one asking any tough questions.

11. Yeah.
She kept stacking up the crap, and Tweety kept asking her, "Yeah, but what did Saddam have to do with 9/11".

He musta asked her like 7-8 times, I think?

7. I think he is trying to save his job.....
And he will be whatever it takes to do that...Up to this point, he has thought that the best way to do that is to appeal to a conservative audience. However, it doesn't seem to be working. He is now contemplating coming out for Dean and taking on the right-wing in hopes that the liberals will then save his show...

I didn't see the Noonan interview 'cause I don't watch Matthews anymore, but isn't it a change of pace for him after all the adulation he showered on Lucienne Goldberg, Linda Tripp's apologist and Jonah's mommie dearest, during the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal?

12. I think it's more about Michael Jackson
he must be deeply humiliated by being forced to devote the first 20 minutes of his show to this crap.

With Clinton, I think he'd be ok with that because it's political, and he's taking on the President.

But Michael is the stuff of "Access Hollywood." I think he thrashed Peggy to restore what he thinks is left of his dignity. And I'm not complaining, it was great. :-)

Who the hell knows which way the winds a blowin? I watched one night right after Coulter's book Treason came out. Shit,he turned that skeleton every damn way but loose.

She was basically calling every Dem a GD traitor in her book if you didn't go lockstep with Chimpboy and his Oil War.Tweety nailed her ass to the floor boards for 15-20 minutes. Crap, you could she that she was shell shocked...Heh he....

Damn it was good.

15. I think Tweety goes on personalities more than politics.
He likes straight answers: yes/no/i don't know. If you start beating around the bush (no pun) he'll cut into you. Facts don't matter as much as how you present your case. It's all for the sake of keeping heightened drama & the ping-pong rhythm going for the show's sake.

16. Boorish, ineffective, and a disgrace to Catholics and Democrats
I wish he'd either get kicked off the networks completely or learn to be a real journalist. For now, he's just another screaming head, albeit a notably obnoxious one (though there is an embarrassment of riches in THAT department).

I chose other. Matthews voted for Bush in 2000 and has spoken at one or more Conservative conferences.

However, Matthews has asked some good questions about the war in Iraq on
"Hardball."
