Disparity between political compass of Americans & their leaders
The political compass, shown here
http://www.digitalronin.f2s.com/politicalcompass/questionnaire.pl?page=1

is a test of where you are politically, relative to the population at large.

What I find interesting is how different the politicians are from what the people are on the political compass. Take for example this thread from the DU Lounge:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=559353&mesg_id=559353

As you can see from that thread, everyone who posted has a score way to the left side of the graph, which makes them all lefties, economically speaking. EVERYONE! But look at our Demo candidates and other political leaders (the website shows you where they are after you finish the survey). Our politicians are ALL on the right hand side of the graph.

What is going on here?! You may argue that DUers are lefties, but are they THAT left? I doubt that the American public is as nearly as far right as the politicians.

Just who are they representing in this representative democracy? Wake up, people!
