As many who frequent DU know, (and are probably sick and tired of hearing, :eyes:) I am a former city councilperson of a small town in Western Washington.

I have it on the highest authority that the costs due to the seesawing terra color are placing undue stress on an already overstressed city and law enforcement budget. We're a drip in the huge puddle. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a city councilperson in NYC, with their staggering budget woes and more and more money being spent on "terra alerts".

My thoughts are with your daughter, Trof, and all DU'ers whose loved ones are traveling this holiday season.

Freeper capital of the world! One would think the population would turn out in droves and patrol their borders gratis. Do donuts cost that much?

Jim Robinson probably lost playing in the stock market and needs another two million to keep the Free Republic running for another 3 months.
