Cooper finally just broke Kurd capture of Saddam on CNN
He didn't break it as news. He commented on it in his nth degree segment.

Took "Government" to task for not having stories straight on Saddam, Lynch, WoMD.

Drip, drip, drip.

2. These type of things always start with a little reference on one
show and then slowly trickles down to the other pundits' shows. Let's see if Aaron Brown follows up on this story.

5. CNN mentioned it this morning as well...
around 10 am. Much the same way, only en passant.

8. It's even been up on Drudge for the past two days
It's pretty hard to miss for anyone who ventures outside of the mainstream media for their news. Whether it's true or not, it should at least be discussed and questions should be asked about it. Get the administration on record so that they can be caught in all their many lies. Speaking of which, I heard Chalabi on Wolf Blitzer's program and he said that Saddam not only had a pistol but also two assault rifles with him when he was captured. The story grows more and more incredible as time goes by-- which to me signals a great big lie!!!!

11. Ahmed Chalabi has no credibility what so ever, he'll say anything
or do anything that the U.S. wants him to do or say. I'm indeed surprised that CNN would even trot that shill out. But when 'ya got a direct line to the White House 'ya hav'ta do what they say, 'eh?

9. Olberman about to talk about it... heads up
Edited on Mon Dec-22-03 08:43 PM by alg0912
On MSNBC... Making #3 on the countdown (and not mentioning it "in passing"). It's up next - I'll edit this w/ more info once the segment starts

Discussing whether the story is truthful w/ Evan Thomas of Newsweek - naturally Thomas is calling the British story "dubious." But the underlying gist of the story was, "here's another embellishment by the Penagon..."

Well, at least it made the countdown, I guess (even tho Jacko's party is #2 :eyes:)

12. evan thomas defending WH version on Olberman
says PUK had "some" role in capture, but couldn't claim credit for actually doing it.

what does that mean? what role? why can't you say what it was?

thomas cites, "very good source" in spewing this.

they dismiss possibility altogether.

16. Even that wouldn't fly because the administration said
That it was only Americans involved in the operation. I cannot wait for just one of the press whores to get some courage and ask about this to get them on record.

19. I have to confess,
I watched faux for a few minutes today, and some 'expert' was there, saying that it's all a lie - that's what the Kurds do - they lie all the time. You just wouldn't believe it, you're having a conversation with them and all of a sudden they launch into a big fantasy story, talking as though it's the truth.

HAHA, you'd think he was actually describing FAUX, the way he was talking!

I won't even go INTO the racist stereotyping that this is! I wish I had paid more attention to who the guy was.

21. Nothing to it.
I work with someone who has a relative close enough to the raid that he emailed home some pictures of him in Saddam Hussein's hole. I asked the specific question about how the raid went down, and the Kurd thing, and the story she gave made this theory just not possible.
