Dem Convention in Boston
A few dumb questions...

When exactly is it?

Is it open to the public?

How does one go about becoming a delegate?

A few friends & I would love to take a road trip and attend next year...is this possible & what can I do to help out?

7. yes, they are
carrowsboy. If you contact your state party, they'll tell you what to do. I don't know if it's the same in every state. My state makes it a difficult and convoluted process. I wanted to go for it, but frankly I have better things to do with my time than jump through the hoops.

However - that's probably just NH.

How?

I'm not far away...I'd go anyway, but as a volunteer, maybe I'd have less of a chance of getting my head busted open by Bush's Jackboots.

I'll be saving that for NYC and the GOP cluster fvck.

6. I plan on at least volunteering...
Will this guarantee me getting inside and watching the speeches? Not to sound rude, but I don't want to travel 10 hours by train to sit outside taking tickets.

8. Here's the volunteer application...
http://www.boston04.com/volunteers.asp

If you want to run for delegate, you have to file papers pretty soon. Go to your state's democratic party website and email them asking how to run for delegate. All the dates are different by state. It might be too late to file in some states, I don't know. In my state, it's a tough race this year and I wouldn't even have a chance because I have no political or law experience. Tons of people running. Other states might be easier, though.
