won't be home for Christmas -- faces of the fallen
The Washington Post has a site where all of those who've died in Iraq have their own space. Not just from hostile fire, but all the ones who gave their last measure of devotion. There are many photos of servicemen and women and some of their last letters home.

I hope you will honor them by reviewing their stories. Too many are under 20 years old.

1. It's really sad...
Edited on Thu Dec-25-03 12:10 AM by The Undertaker
that these people-our fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters-had to die for a greedy president who wanted to get his hands on every drop of fucking oil on this planet-just to get more $$$ in his pocket. These people died for nothing but greed. They died way before their time, and does this fucking asshole we have as president care? Hell fucking no. I hope he burns in Hell for all eternity for allowing this to happen to our-and his-countrymen.

This just makes me want to cry. My heart and prayers go out to the families of our fallen heroes.

On edit: Thanks for the link, grasswire. I'm going to send it to every one of the heartless republicans on my college campus.

4. This will become a vigil for me
Thank you for posting it.... I didn't know about this site.

I'd like to begin a memorial list on another forum... Do you, or anyone, know of a site that keeps a tally of names of those who've died in Iraq? Unfortunately, I notice that the names on the WP site can't be copied for pasting elsewhere. I'd really appreciate this info.

Thanks so much!

Kanary

3. I briefly thought of doing this post myself earlier
Pitt's Overview message got me to thinking about their families and friends and what their holidays would be like this year. I go there every once in a while. It's like visiting a memorial. It's a good thing the WP has done.

5. This is a very sad Christmas for me,.
I can't help but think of our young people over in that f*cking "shooting gallery" called Iraq. Sometimes I wish I weren't so sensitive, but I am.

6. I'm thankful for your sensitivity
In the final analysis, it's all we have left. It's all that separates us from the ones who would take down this nation.

It certainly is harder to live with, though.

I wish you peace.
