No gassing.
No WMD.
No imminent threat.
No Iraqi love for US "liberators".

4. not really
iran and iraq BOTH used chemical and biological weapons against each other - this is just ONE occurrence where the winds blew the wrong way...

both sides violated the geneva conventions, and the West's arms dealers (in the US, Canada, Britain and, yes, France) sold weapons to both sides...

do you think there'll ever be a public trial?

"Let them off the hook"?? Just makes them look worse, IMHO...they played both sides against the middle.

8. Piece in the NYTimes Op-ed made this point about a year ago
Can't give a citation offhand, but it did get exposure there. Author was some kind of ME intel professional, probably shows up in some of your citations as well.

But the presumption seems to be that this news is being suppressed, and I don't think that's exactly accurate. I was appalled and disgusted when I first encountered this story, but I've since read some pretty persuasive dismissals of it. Nothing I've kept sources on, so maybe I shouldn't post, but I just want to point out that news editors may well be downplaying it simply because they think there are holes in the story, not because they've never encountered it or don't want it to get any play.

12. and the beat goes on
None of these sources is without a built in bias. All are left wing sites that are grinding an axe against the administration. If these stories appear in the NYT or USA Today NEWS sections we have something and can run with it. As it stands now, I can go find a litany of right wing sites that supports the exact opposite position on all of it. They were fascinating reading and I thank you for compiling them, hopefully one or two of these things will pan out and we can stick it to the Bushies.
