1. Holy holy insinuation, Batman!
"And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable than an empire can rise without His aid?"

2. I think that could include Iraq as well as the American empire
So who are we to judge?
That quote is really chilling.
We are "Empire" and proud of it!

5. I guess I don't quite follow you ~ How could Iraq ever be conceived as
an Empire? A dictatorship granted. Empire???? Don't see it at all. How has he expanded to take over any other countries. Empire means "Total" control of numerous countries. He didn't even have total control of Iraq. The Kurds controlled themselves.

3. Yikes!
He's even scarier than I thought. There's not even anything remotely Christmasy about the message; it's just balls-out psychopathic self-aggrandisement and blow him if you don't agree with it. Wow. Now I'm interested in what the Bushes' card said.

4. here you go ...
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/11/20031125-4.html

Kind of a cold, distant picture (more empty furniture).

The quote:

"You have granted me life and loving kindness; and your care has preserved my spirit. Job 10:12
May you celebrate the joys of faith, family and friendship this holiday season and always. 2003"

It kind of makes sense, if you picture W saying the Bible quote out loud. He believes that he is specially favored by the Almighty (and therefore that anything he does is justified!)

At least it's not scary. But then I have a hard time taking the Dubster seriously when he invokes God. It's just a ruse that he knows a lot of people will fall for. If he believes in God at all, he probably sits around and worries that he'll be punished eventually, like maybe God is letting him get away with all this shit as a setup for some horrific punishment in the afterlife. But that assumes he has a tiny conscience, which is a big assumption if you ask me.
