San Diego Cedar Fire Perp

I heard the guy who "accidentally" started this fire was fined and let go?
Wait a minute. This fire killed people and destroyed millions in property
not to mention the dollars spent in the aftermath.

If I or you "accidentally" kill someone by driving illegally, couldn't we be
held for involuntary manslaughter? Even if we didn't "intend" for that to
happen?

He started an illegal fire and it spread death and mayhem.
All he gets is a fine?

Help me out here. :crazy:

1. Doesn't fit the Bush agenda

The Bushies don't like the idea that wildfires are started by arsonists, careless campers, ladder fuel buildup from overzealous fire suppression, natural causes like lightning, etc. The agenda of those lying demagogues is to blame environmentalists and promote wholesale logging as the solution. Prosecuting somebody would blow holes in their demagoguery.
