First Lady Says Shock of 9-11 Diminished

By SCOTT LINDLAW, Associated Press Writer

-snips-

"Our world changed," Mrs. Bush said in an interview Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "We still are always aware of that. The rawness of it and the shock of it is diminished with time."

Mrs. Bush also said that a poem she had recently attributed to her husband _ in jest, she added _ was not his work. The first lady had read the poem to an audience of book lovers in October after returning from a trip to Paris and Moscow. It read in part: "Roses are red/Violets are blue/Oh my lump in the bed/How I've missed you."

Many people believed the president had written the poem, but she was joking when she told listeners it was his, she said.

When she first learned of the stealth visit, she wanted to accompany her husband, but knew he did not plan to invite her. "I was very anxious at first when he first started taking about it," she said. But by the time he and national security adviser Condoleezza Rice drove off from the Bush ranch toward the airport, the day before Thanksgiving, her fears had subsided.

I think there is plenty of nasty stuff to say about the extended Bush crime family and the junta in general. Attacking Laura Bush's nails is even more petty than the media whores' obsession with what color suits our guys are wearing.

remotely indicate an attack on laura's bush's nails !!!!!!

lots of us poor, unemployed, impoverished women buy our nail-polishes at discount drugstores and do our own nails...it's actually become a very 'in' thing during the bush* crisis...

....laura's display of her cheap nail-polish just shows how much she 'bonds' with us 'common-folk'...and of course, we poor people recognize the color as a cheap one, that we can still barely afford (until our children need vaccines or some other medical care)....

it so both eyes cannot look at you at the same time...

she could have that fixed while here in DC, where we have LOTS of very good and highly specialized plastic surgeons that ONLY work on those little skin flaps on the corner of eyes....

seriously gals, bad choice of eye-surgeons is expected from shrubbies...gosh, bush* has made bad choices for ALL his advisors...

maybe someone will feel sorry for laura and do the surgery for FREE (like the surgeon who fixed linda tripps nose, no charge, after seeing her on TV)....

15. It was a Banner Year for Bush Lies.
The Bush administration did not reveal the identity of a CIA operative since the White House is cooperating with the 9/11 commission because democrats are not good Americans just as the Jews were not good Germans and government spending went down if you do not count the increased government spending on the boxes which were labeled "Made in USA" even though the decorative turkey was not labeled because Bush's plane was spotted and before Saddam bought the uranium Bush had no plans on his desk to invade Iraq since the aircraft carrier was too far offshore for the Navy to make a large enough banner to describe the WMD we have found in Iraq some of which could hit the US and some of which Saddam was giving to Osama for using Iraqi hijackers on 9/11 but everyone got a tax cut which allowed Iraqi oil revenue to pay for the cost of the reconstruction of Iraq after the invasion by a small number of troops who would be greeted with flowers because Bush misunderstood the August 6, 2001 intelligence briefing warning of the 9/11 attacks and that is why Laura dropped the dog.

There is no subject so shallow, serious, or somber that Bush will not lie about it. The only other option is not to lie. And that Bush can not do.

20. Look, either he called her a "lump" or he didn't
and I would guess, in his detrimental pointing of fingers and disguising it as "humor: that he did write it.! He probably does see her as 'lump in the bed" and, if you really want to know, I also see her as a manufactured lump of nothing--a total robot.

And if he did not write it, why do we have the dumassed Laura trying to beef up the lie? Honestly this woman only knows how to butter her bread--she goes on all sorts of exotic trips to Europe on our money, and only thinks of "eating and shopping" Trully this is a woman, a cardboard cutout--she knows not who she is and further has been so intimidated or, better yet, is so stupid, that she does not realize when she is being insulted by her grossly, stupid husband.

You know, "Barney's still mad you dropped him?"

Having someone else write it for him, AND blame her for dropping Barney, well, that is some really twisted shtuff.

29. transcript (link) & video...lauri is rude to Caroline, interrupts her
Edited on Sun Dec-28-03 08:45 PM by amen1234

continuously...while Carolyn works on major efforts for the New York City public schools, laura works on barney-cams....

transcript/short video
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3823359/

(at the beginning of video, is that a brace on laura's back??)

----------------------------------

laura shoves out this book, to INSULT America's child (Carolyn), whose father never came home from Texas...

---------------------------

MR. RUSSERT: You have a book there, "Uncle Sam's Kids: When Duty Calls." Tell us about that.

MRS. BUSH: Well, this woman, whose husband is actually deployed in Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, wrote this book for children whose parents are deployed. And really it's a great book for children just who want to know about what it's like to serve our country in the United States military. It's a story for children about a family who say goodbye to their dad when he is deployed and he goes overseas and then they wait for him to come home, and in this storybook, of course, they get to make the signs at the end and meet him at the airport and welcome him home from his deployment.

---------------------------

after the MOST FAMOUS John Kennedy remarks were played, laura makes the most inane remark possible, right in front of Caroline...laura mis-quoted and mis-represented the most memorized quote in our Nation's history....

PRES. KENNEDY: And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world, ask not what America will do for you but what together we can do for the freedom of man. Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us here the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With a good conscience, our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking his blessing and his help but knowing that here on Earth, God's work must truly be our own.

MR. RUSSERT: Mrs. Bush, you remember those days?

MRS. BUSH: I do remember those days very well. And the very first part of that quote, of course, is one of the most well-known quotes in the world. But I didn't realize the second part of it. I didn't know that he spoke of the world and said, you know, "When you're asking what America can do for you, ask what we can do together."

43. Ummmm....I'll try...but the bush* White House is incredibly stupid
Edited on Tue Dec-30-03 02:09 AM by amen1234
that we are wondering what's going on in there..and within the WH, whose on which psycho-pharmaceutical drugs....it truly is difficult for us normal people to understand.....

but I'll try to explain it....here it goes:

true story....

when laura bush came home from her solo visit to Europe this year....she made a HUGE showing of a love letter that she claimed to have found in her WH bed upon her return...laura read the love poem in front of cameras and repeated it at TWO different televised events, and said that her dear loving christian husband wrote the poem....she was thrilled...

here's part of the poem, that laura found in her bed....

"Roses are red
Violets are blue
Oh my lump in the bed
How I've missed you."

so lots of papers and talk shows repeated the poem, thinking it was written by bush* himself...

some right-wing talk shows thought the poem was just lovely and bush* was obviously a very loving husband and very articulate to write such glorious poetry to his wife, blah blah...

and democratic people felt that calling your wife a 'lump in the bed' was a real put-down...a horrible thing to say to your middle-aged wife, even if she does have a fat butt...and that most women who got a 'lump in the bed' poem would NOT read it to anyone, especially not on National TV....

and weeks later, the story slipped away and was forgotten....

but, suddenly, laura brings up the poem AGAIN on this past Sunday's talk show...REPEATS the insulting poem and then says that her husband did NOT write the poem....on National TV, laura said that she was 'joking' when she said her husband wrote the poem (so she lied)....

soooooo....with laura's National TV confession, that her husband did NOT write the poem....who wrote it?

and other questions like....

if laura wrote it herself...that's real psycho
if another man/women wrote it....who is he/she?
how did this person get into laura's bedroom, and is that a security threat to the pResident's family?

it's mostly just interesting insight into the people in the White House...we know so little about them, and the WH has been locked up since bush* took office...little socializing....no tours....no contact with the public....it's just a little insight...that's all...and some speculation about how the bush*'s are getting along together and what drugs they are on....

here's how BARTCOP.com summarized it on his web page today:
-----------------------------------
Quotes

"You just don't know how great it is to have
a husband who would write a poem for you."

-- Pickles Bush, talking about her brain dead husband who did not write the "Roses are red" poem!

--------------------------------------

56. Writer of doggeral identified!!
I can just see Barney sitting at the family computer tapping out that wretched poem. Forced to recant the story that his master dropped him on the tarmac, sniffing out a “lump in the bed...” Yup, it has the markings of a dog’s work. That mutt's prints are all over this story.

Here's the whole poem. Now tell me Barney wasn't coerced into writing it.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Oh my, lump in the bed
How I've missed you.
Roses are redder
Bluer am I
Seeing you kissed by that charming French guy.
The dogs and the cat, they missed you too
Barney's still mad you dropped him, he ate your shoe
The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier
Next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier.
