Today's CNN Poll
Today's really is an interesting one. It askes if you think that exports of beef should be halted pending further investigation of the incidence of Mad Cow's Diesease.

That really asks a basic question about your political fundamentals. Should the beef industry be protected and exports allowed to contine? How do we feel about the ranchers who's livelhoods will be threatned? How about those who might eat the beef, what do we owe them in protecting their health? What other questions are there and how do you feel about it.

I say ban the beef exports until we know what is leaving our shores.

Thom

1. Well....
"ranchers" no longer form the majority of the meat producing
industry...its all corporate. MEGA-corporate.

I'm still curious about what the REAL underlying issue is with
regards to mad cow here in the States. Why now? Who is benefiting from
this?

2. Halt beef exports? Like we have a choice?
Our exports have halted because the buyers refuse to buy. It ain't our choice. It's theirs. They refuse to allow tainted beef into their countries. And we can't prove our beef isn't tainted because our regulation and testing has been so painfully lax. It's what the beef industry wanted.

This is what they mean when they say, Be Careful What You Wish For Because You Might Get It. Beef industry got it good.
