11. Maybe this is an eye-opener for Republicans
They have so wrapped up in their hatred that they have lost track of America. It is America that thinks she is most Admired Woman not GOP. How does that make them feel? Like they ate a sour grape I'd bet. This is very encouraging to me. Not all of America is totally brainwashed by Rush FOX News and the GOP. Only 30% of the country is wing-nuts.

12. Unfortunately, that same poll showed
GWB won as the “most admired man” (28%). Also Hillary Clinton won “most admired woman” over Laura Bush (tied with Oprah) 7% to 6%

13. I wonder why it is not
being hyped out there that bush is the most admired man of the year. I would think this could give him another boost in the polls.

17. Because they'd have to also acknowledge Hillary
and because he'd have to esplain why Laura has been absent from view for three whole years.

16. Yes it is but do you think the results will be different this year?
I don't think Bush* will still be most admired man but I can't think of any woman that would steal the title from Hillary.

19. look, let us all take a more compassionate view of the Laura
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 07:05 PM by Marianne
who has not done a goddam thing with her life other than marry an alcoholic with a family name, and birth twin daughers in her late years. She claim to be a "librarian"..Hell--what is that compared top the great first ladies we have seen. This woman Laura is so drugged out and so shallow and so subserivent that by now, she is really, really confused and needs to be "protected" by her hubby, saviour, George. Meanwhile, she is being used by her
saviour, George to reap in millions for his next run.

This woman is indeed, sad and pathetic.

According to the article: "This year, 1,009 adult Americans were asked and filled in the blank with anyone they wished."

How do the opinions of 1,009 people represent what all Americans are thinking?

25. 1000+ people is magical
How do the opinions of 1,009 people represent what all Americans are thinking?

actually, I remember from my stats classes in college, survey sizes under 1000 are sometimes (usually) hit or miss but there is something unique about crossing the 1000 sample threshhold as far as the results accurately representing the population.
