Anyone ever read "Leftism Revisited"?
by Kuhnelt-Leddhin?

A conservative I was debating on another board kept thumping it to argue that fascism was basically a Leftist creation, so he could lump it in as "another form of socialism", and therefore extend the "body count" associated with socialism(the whole thread topic was about leftist apologists for Stalin et al), and at the same time make the claim that the right really wasn't that involved in the whole anti-democratic dictatorship game in the last century.

Anyway, the only reviews for the book I saw online were either a)on frontpagemag:puke: or b)on some ultraconservative blog.

Anyone out there force themselves to read this, or know where I can find an OBJECTIVE review?

Thanks!

1. A leftist creation?
is that his rightist mind telling him that? What does he think constitutes leftist principles?

Stalin was NOT a leftist...he was an authoritarian.

4. wingnuts like that line of reasoning
National Socialism has the word "socialism" in it, therefore, the Nazis were socialists.

Or their trickier argument: communism is collectivism, fascism is collectivism, therefore, communism and fascism are the same thing. It's a word game.

My knowledge of the history of the Nazis is rather poor, but I think Hitler, despite his intense hatred of the socialists, admired their fervent solidarity, and consequently attempted to co-opt that trait to some degree, hence, the inclusion of the word "socialism" for his National Socialist party. Of course it's much more complicated than that, and there's many other reasons; and I think it was not too uncommon for the intensely reactionary rightwing groups at that time to use phrases such as "Workers' Party" or the word "socialist" to describe themselves.

3. For your part, be sure to read "Liberalism Resurgent" if you haven't yet
http://mirrors.korpios.org/resurgent/tenets.htm

As for the notion that fascism was a leftist creation... it's laughable. Nothing leftist about it. The organizations fascism primarily targets are the strongholds of leftism: unions, immigrant populations, poor people, internationalists. Your opponent is either confused or lying his ass off.

5. No. I don't read porn.
Crap like that is in broadly the same category as the 'Elders of Zion' rubbish. It's for pre-existing True Believers -- people who want their prejudices confirmed, and will eagerly read anything, no matter how hopeless, that seems to do it.
