I need a young gal to volunteer to write to a lonely soldier in Iraq
Edited on Sat Jan-03-04 11:07 AM by Skittles
He has no one to write to - the problem is, while I don't mind sending packages, I'm really not good with one-on-one writing. He doesn't have anyone to write to and he is a super sweet guy - he enclosed a picture with his letter - not of himself or his buddies or the scenery in Iraq - but of Iraqi children.

I was hoping to get someone closer to his age (20) than me (way older than 20). :o

Please PM if you are interested; I will give his address to the first reply! Please reply only if you TRULY INTEND to write.

Thanks.

on edit - just so you know - these letters require NORMAL POSTAGE as they go to an APO address. That means you treat is just like it's in the U.S. and just use a 37 cent stamp.

10. Encouraging Words!
If only we could communicate with him via E-Mail.

The encouraging words of Leader, George W. Bush

would surely give him comfort.

2. Skittles, you are sweet.
I know he'll enjoy corresponding with someone closer to his own age. I, too, am way too old for him! But he's sweet, and not bad looking, either.

In his last letter to me, he said that perhaps he could take me and my kids to dinner when he gets home, as our states border each other. Now that's a nice guy!

this is a different soldier. He actually needs a pen pal. He wasn't asking for packages, just someone to write to.

8. thanks
I do send quite a few packages to Iraq. I'll be sending one to this soldier tomorrow! Packages are easy - they like anything. You don't have to worry that the soldier will like everything in the package because they share it with their buddies!

17. Where can I get the APO address?
...and does the domestic postage also apply to small packages? When my son was in basic training I sent him a handfull of candy bars every day. I'd like to do the same, now that he's been deployed to Iraq.
