Willie's new song
Do you think they'll play it in your town?
Do you think he'll see much general backlash?

2. The words
From http://kucinich.us/nelson_poe_song.php

What Ever Happened To Peace On Earth
There's so many things going on in the world
Babies dying
Mothers crying
How much oil is one human life worth
And what ever happened to peace on earth

We believe everything that they tell us
They're gonna' kill us
So we gotta' kill them first
But I remember a commandment
Thou shall not kill
How much is that soldier's life worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

(Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we've been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liar's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

So I guess it's just
Do unto others before they do it to you
Let's just kill em' all and let God sort em' out
Is this what God wants us to do

(Repeat Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we've been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liar's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

Now you probably won't hear this on your radio
Probably not on your local TV
But if there's a time, and if you're ever so inclined
You can always hear it from me
How much is one picker's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

But don't confuse caring for weakness
You can't put that label on me
The truth is my weapon of mass protection
And I believe truth sets you free

(Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we've been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liar's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

10. "how much is a liar's word worth"?
Willie Nelson does NOT mince words, now does he?

Stay out of small planes, Willie...

16. Wow! I luv Willie!
Willie rocks, that's all there is to it.

Thank God somebody's saying this.

Why has it taken so long, and why is it just this one voice?

9. There is a live webcast
There are several entertainers performing for DK that started at 7:55 central. I do not know if Willie has taken the stage yet, although I do not think he has. You can track the links from http://www.kucinich.us/concerts/willie_20040103/ if this link does not take you to the webcast- http://kucinich.sitestream.com/WillieNelson,BonnieRaittLive.vsml?package=1364589

11. Now they say there is no music for the words

From http://www.news8austin.com/content/headlines/?ArID=93992&SecID=2

"Nelson has tentative plans to premiere his new song, "Whatever Happened to Peace on Earth?" at the concert. The song's lyrics have gotten attention recently, but Nelson said he doesn't have the music written yet."

13. Beautiful song
I doubt I'll hear it here - Clear Channel owns just about every radio station. I don't know if he'll get the "Dixie Chicks" backlash. You have to respect the guy - he's as American as mom and apple pie.

17. They will never play it on Country radio
The radio sucks, but I play it in my daughters room while she sleeps. My local Country radio is over & over again saying "We support the troops" With these lyrics...it will never happen. His only hope for this song is a video. And I will bet that the Music channels will ban it also. Merle has come out with a song "Thats The News" and I still have yet to hear it on radio/tv. Or what about Mellencamps song.... "To Washington". Liberal Media my ass.

18. Lobby your local radio stations NOW,
in numbers,( so that they cannot say they didn't know anything about it.)
I wish they would sell videos of the whole concert.Plus this single.
