Limbaugh, Lurching to the Left......great editorial.
http://www.sptimes.com/2003/12/29/Opinion/Limbaugh_lurches_to_t.shtml

SNIP..."Didn't Rush Limbaugh used to be pro-law and order?

Now that the once conservative commentator finds himself on the wrong side of a police investigation, he and his lawyers are accusing prosecutors and other members of the law enforcement community of concocting a vast, politically motivated conspiracy against him.

Not even the most linguini-spined liberal would have the gall to spew such irresponsible nonsense....."

SNIP..."Limbaugh used to defend the legal system - and he used to ridicule citizens who claimed that their constitutional rights had been violated by police and prosecutors. But now Limbaugh, who is fortunate enough to be able to afford the representation of celebrity attorney Roy Black and a team of defense lawyers, has joined the conspiracy nuts.

The people who have been hunting for someone to host a new left-wing radio talk show may have found their man....."END SNIP...

It is not very favorable to the left, but it roasts Limbaugh!

1. Rush Limbaugh's "Conservatism" was drug-talk
from a junkie high as a kite on opiate prescriptions pills. I can't believe anyone ever took it seriously.

4. Not to be flippant,...
but we could all see this coming, hell, the Mars Rover saw this one coming.

The hypocrisy of the RW just doesn't shock me anymore. Let him dig his own grave with that big mouth of his.

I see he hasn't been back to FL since all of this popped up, wonder if he thinks those "gestapo agents of the left", the police, have a warrant out for him?

7. I don't know how to react...
It would make sense if Rush continued to be conservative but started being less of an ass-hole after he got off drugs. Maybe he's on another drug that's fucking with his brain even more.

It used to be a great paper. . . Has it been bought out, coopted, corrupted? (Linguini-spined liberals???)

Yes, Rush, everyone knows that police departments are controlled by left wing Democrats. :eyes:

19. It's a Limbaugh reference.
His first day back on the air, he said that five weeks of rehab didn't turn him into a linguini-spined liberal.

10. really strange wording
'Not even the most linguini-spined liberal would have the gall' -

wouldn't a linguini-spine negate possession of gall? wouldn't a linguini-spine indicate a back down, fold and collapse position when confronted?

and this from the opinion piece:

""The Democrats still cannot defeat me in the arena of political ideas," Limbaugh said on his Tuesday radio show."

Um, I don't listen to his program, but from what I've heard, he's very quick in the usage of the 'kill' button if a caller disagrees with anything he's saying.

and this:

"Limbaugh used to defend the legal system - and he used to ridicule citizens who claimed that their constitutional rights had been violated by police and prosecutors. But now Limbaugh, who is fortunate enough to be able to afford the representation of celebrity attorney Roy Black and a team of defense lawyers, has joined the conspiracy nuts."

Ah, yes - claiming a violation of constitutional rights equates to being a conspiracy nut. :eyes:

Which fits in a warped kinda way. :D

20. Some facts about doctor shopping
It is illegal, has been for around twenty years now in various states. The law is intended to discourage pill freaks from going from one doctor to the other to get the same script filled. Now then, since the DA made the mistake of getting information about Limpballs massive drug habit, and DIDN'T arrest him for months afterwards, he was unable to catch Rush in possesion of his stash(though I'm sure the fish around the water treatment plant down there are having a real good time). No, the only time that this prosecutor who was on some sort of "liberal witch hunt" goes after Limpballs is when the maid comes out with her damaging allegations in the tabs. Well, since there is a hue and cry after a week or two, the DA figures he has got to do something. He knows he can't get Rush on possession, fat boy was warned and the drugs are long gone. So instead he goes after him with "paper crimes" that are related, doctor shopping, possible money laundering. And since these are regarded as "white collar crimes" Rush is going to get off with a slap on the wrist.

No bub, if you really wanted to see a political prosecution it would have been one that Rush himself reccommended happen to others; busted for possession, possession with intent to distribute, doctor shopping, money laundering, possibly tax evasion, on top of which Rushboy would have had his house, property and other assetts seized under those wonderful forfeiture laws. But nooooo, the DA knew what was going on for months, years, and yet he sat on it until his hand was forced and even then the case he can bring with any hope of success is on the paper crimes. Yeah, that's some real political prosecution there, uh-huh:eyes:

No, old El-Rushbo there, he'll be able to skate with probation, maybe some community service. And in a sense that is a real shame, for by leaving Rush out free and walking the streets it is almost assured that he with die of an overdose within the next five years. Having dealt with downer freaks both on a professional and personal level let me assure that the relapse rate for people who go through these country club rehabs is well over fifty percent, actually it is up in the seventies. And with Limpballs taking the kind of doses that we are hearing about, if he isn't already grinding pills and shooting them, he soon will be. And shortly thereafter he will be DOA from an overdose.

What he really needs is at least a year either in jail or rehab, somewhere off the street where he has no access to drugs. But in your mind that is "political prosecution". But hey, it just might save your heroe's life.

21. Perhaps Limbaugh needs to quit spewing hatred toward others?
Perhaps he would not so often be the recipient thereof?
You think?

18. My recollection is that there is still traction with...
the money laundering charges at a federal level. Behavior suggesting cash withdrawals numbering between 30 and 40 in amounts just under $10,000 might still be subject to some scrutiny, correct?
