Bush stifles free speech...reported on Drudge
I know we have all probably seen this and are aware of the "free speech zones" that Bush sets up whenever he visits somewhere. (Funny, I thought all the land from the Atlantic to the Pacific was a "free speech zone" called the USA.)

But, here it is reported in Drudge. If he is catching on, maybe others will too.

When President Bush travels around the United States, the Secret Service visits the location ahead of time and orders local police to set up "free speech zones" or "protest zones," where people opposed to Bush policies (and sometimes sign-carrying supporters) are quarantined. These zones routinely succeed in keeping protesters out of presidential sight and outside the view of media covering the event.

When Bush went to the Pittsburgh area on Labor Day 2002, 65-year-old retired steel worker Bill Neel was there to greet him with a sign proclaiming, "The Bush family must surely love the poor, they made so many of us."

1. Huh... I don't get Drudge...
He's obviously conservative, yet I've noticed he's not exactly a raging 100% Bush supporter like most conservatives...

3. I think Drudge goes after anyone as long as it gets him attention..
He's forced to live in the shaddow of Rush, and knows he wont ever be as successful, so he has to do what he can for noteriety.
But, like his competitors, its still the standard formula...all liberals bad, liberals are at fault for all the worlds problems, and Bush can do no wrong.

5. Bu$h is no conservative
Bu$h is a neocon. He is not a conservative. If he were conservative there would be no Department of Education. There would have been no hugely subsidized farm bill. There would have not been the illegal by WTO judgement tariffs on steel. There are other examples, but Bu$h is no conservative just because he throws red meat to the religious right/wrong.

Of course it all depends on the definition of what makes a conservative, but there is no way Bu$h has convictions that make him a conservative. That is easy to defend because he has no convictions and the only thing that plays in his head is "Me, Me, Me, Me."

2. Every square inch of the USA is a free speech zone
That's what true patriots established in 1776, and it is what true patriots defend in 2004 and into the future.

Go Patriots! Super Bowl 2004 !
(my free speech for the day).
