2. And good for Begala when he referred to the Osama ad comparing
him to Daschel. Republicans are such idiots. Both parties participate in this type of stuff.

and asked him why he has no African American support.

Is Nofacts tipsy again ?

9. Yes he did
and threw in Katherine Harris and her tricks.

Asked Paul why doesn't the Dems focus on the THEIVES rather than him.

That's a good point.

17. He said Bush is a liar
and why should the American people trust someone like him with the presidency, when Bush doesn't trust the American people to tell them the truth about Iraq.

Also talked about Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld benefitting from Bush's tax cuts, and the war profiteering in Iraq.

Novak couldn't handle it. Good thing they went to commercial :D

21. He repeatedly attacked Bush, said Bush was planning more wars
Said why should Americans trust Bush to run the country when Bush didn't trust them with the truth about the war.

Refused to attack Democrats and deferred Novak's attempts to get him to criticize Dean by saying we need to get rid of Bush.

Clarified Kucinich position -- not to pull out troops "immediately" but to pull them out after a smooth transition to UN troops.

Said he could help as a 3d party candidate by saying things about Bush that Dems themselves maybe can't say.

He did good. For all of us.

24. Skittles - You are wrong!
Be angry at Nader for the fill in the blank reasons, but I feel you have crossed the line by saying he has blood on his hands. There is a reason I’m a Independent because of sentiments like that. Nader to my knowledge was firmly against the war!

Gephardt

Kerry

Edwards

Lieberman

These four moral midgets are the ones with blood on their hands. Nader is an American hero.

27. Nader is no hero
No one whose plan involves "heightening the contradictions" should be called a hero. Using the death and suffering of innocent people as a means to a political end is something I find equally repugnant in both Bush and in Nader. Nader at least says the right things some of the time, and I would welcome his leftist viewpoint as long as he doesn't say such things as "there is no difference between the parties", etc.

30. But having read the transcript, he did an awesome job on Crossfire
Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 07:11 PM by jpgray
If he turns aside from "heightening the contradictions" to help get Bush out (which doesn't mean toadying to a corporate Dem), he will win my eternal respect for that act. Much of my disappointment with Nader isn't about wanting him not to run, or wanting him to ignore the faults of Democrats--it's about generalizations that simply aren't true. Kucinich is different from Bush, and so is Dean, Kerry, Clark, even the Rose Gardeners have some small but significant differences.

If Nader wants to help remove Bush, I would certainly welcome him aboard, and so should everyone else.

37. Do you know what heightening the contradictions means?
If that indeed is Nader's plan, then I can in no way condone it. Allowing or causing a disaster to happen so change can be effected is not as praiseworthy as laboring to prevent the disaster. Nader has stated that he prefers a Republican be elected over a Democrat. Why does he say this? Because the breaking point will come sooner--a Democrat will take us on a slow ride to a breaking point, whereas a Republican will speed things up considerably. My preference would be to prevent the breaking point entirely, because suffering and death will follow it.

29. so....
.....I guess the part about "no difference between Bush and Gore" was a joke? Or what? Funny now that Nader is telling us that Bushco is hell, when he held them equal to Dems not too long ago.

32. Nader has blood on his hands?
Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 11:45 PM by Tinoire
What kind of a hysterical statement was that? Nader wasn't Vice President during the 8 years that the Clinton/Gore Administration bombed Iraq daily and pulverized the country. Nader wasn't Vice President when bombs where littered all over Yugoslavia and hi-rise apartment complexes with live people inside were hit by weapons provided by the Clinton/Gore adminstration.

Nader wasn't Vice President when Clinton & Gore pushed through their $860 million "Plan Colombia" to support a corrupt regime that murdered 3000 civilians each year and created 300,000 refugees annually. http://www.cepr.net/columns/weisbrot/clinton_in_columbia.htm

You want to see the blood on Clinton and Gore's hands? Just click right here for Iraq or here for Aleksinac, Yugoslavia or here for Razno or here for Nis.

There's plenty of blood on Clinton and Gore's hands too- some people just don't want to see it.

Maybe all that blood had to do with why Gore suffered such an embarrassing loss in Tennessee and why he inexcusably lost New Hampshire, New Mexico, Iowa, Wisconsin and Oregon.

A look at exit polls conducted by the Voter News Service shows some rather startling results as well. In a two-way race, 49% of all voters said they would have voted for Bush--compared to Gore's 48%. http://69.57.157.207/archives/2000/11/13/what_of_the_spoilers.php

36. Nader kicked ass this morning on C-Span.
His best response was to the caller who stated he became a Republican because "liberals like Nader always tried to tell him what to think."

Nader's response.."We all tell each other what to think, this is what makes this country great, freedom of speech! Do you feel this way when you are told what to buy at the grocery story, how to invest by a corporation, or how to vote by those in your community?"

As usual Nader was slamming the corruption of the two-party system and even criticized Dean for stating he would not cut military waste. Nader point out that national health-care, a better infrastructure, and better education will never be possible unless we are willing to face such choices.

If the Democrats listen, I doubt he will run. But we could always ignore him at our own peril!
