6. Bush and Germans ....talks about connection...talks about a bank
connection with the Union Bank maybe there was laundeering..but wasn't sure.

He then speculated those that owned the bank and how they helped the Nazi's...

Say's at least it's fair game to bring it up which it's not.

8. EXACTLY!!!
why don't the dems plaster THAT quote all over the place?

Rolling Stone has an interview w/Phillips, in which he discusses the major premises of his most excellent book

he was, ahem, "Nixon's chief political strategis in 1968"!
He also "formulated the Southern Strategy".....direct quote from article

another direct quote:
In his new book, American Dynasty, Phillips lays out his almost visceral distaste for what he calls the "politics of deceit in the House of Bush," accusing the administration of dishonesty and secrecy that would make Tricky Dick blush.

I haven't checked, but in the past, RS doesn't have much available online.

this article is brief (way too short, actually), but is an excellent compendium of some of the WORST of Bush; something with which to "enlighten" those benighted friends of yours who still cling to the myth of B* benignity.

10. fair maiden peapod.......
it's the article written by Eric Bates in current newsstand edition of Rolling Stone....just bought it today, as I loaded up on Rush's second favorite supplement: Vitamin "V"

January 22, 2004

thumbing through, waiting to give birth, it really blows, with few exceptions.

for the days of HST, Tim Ferris, Timothy Crouse.

Thompson's serialization of Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail remains one of the most insightful pieces of realtime political journalism EVER written, aside from being the most savagely hilarious.

Dick Tuck.....Ibogaine.....the Zoo Plane....Steadman's cartoons

he was the first person (by a VERY long shot, too) that predicted McGovern's nomination, because he bothered to, uh, be a JOURnalist, and did some actual reporting, rather than listening to the blowhards who accepted the conventional wisdom that the nominee would be decided on the basis of the old game: backroom deals and upfront endorsements, when the party had changed the game during the chaos of the 68 fiasco, enabling smart pols like McGovern, Gary Hart, and Pat Caddell to make grassroot connections, and secure the actual delegates before the convention, making his nomination a fait accompli before any of the CW journalists, much less old line pols like Daley, Muskie, Humphrey, Scoop Jackson, etal, had a clue

great encounter with Nixon, too! he actually got a limo (I think) ride with him, in which they discussed nothing but football, leaving HST scratching his head in wonderment at Nixon's seeming deep/broad knowledge of the pro game

but, I digress.......must be the painkillers.

got any ether?
