If Gov.Rowland is impeached, will that help the Dems this Nov?
I figure if Gov.Davis can be recalled for something thats not his fault then why can't Rowland be impeached for something he got caught at doing....AFTER he lied about it? If Rowland is impeached, will the score be even now that Arnold is Gov in CA.?

I live in CT. & I am almost certain Rowland won't resign or be impeached.WHy?He's a Republican. Its a poorly kept secret in CT.how Rowland pushed his 1st wife down a flight of stairs & how the courts sealed EVERYTHING RE:that.Rowland will get away with this IMO.

1. Don't give up hope yet!
I live in Illinois and it is pretty exciting watching our former corrupt governor being indicted on 22 different counts! We may see him in handcuffs yet! I am keeping my fingers crossed!

2. Just saw on New England Cable News
that 84% of CT residents said he should resign.

I think it will help the Dems, but don't expect the news to go any farther than New England or NY Metro. I saw a little blurb on the national news about Rowland, but of course, they didn't mention what party he belonged to! :eyes:

3. Rowland said this morning
He WILL NOT resign,.....but he appologized AGAIN for everything he did. I swear, he must have said "I WONT'T RESIGN" about 10 times in the past week. He is VERY confident. He wouldn't keep saying that unless he had an ace up his sleeve!

4. By not resigning
Rowland pulls back the cover of Publican's evil pall. They are power mad and drunk on self-importance and hold that what they do is defensible because they are the "inherently correct Party" living large in their disconnected world. If it were not for the think tanks spin meisters and image shapers, all would see Publicans as the shrivel-hearted little unredeemable Scrooges they will always be.

5. If Rowland resigns, Dem chances in 2006 hinge on Jodi Ridell's
ability to run the governor's office. She's the lieutenant governor. I have a feeling that she is a patsy who wouldn't overshadow Rowland. I don't know her nor do I know what kind of politician she is.

6. actually, I did not know that
I live in Connecticut as well, close to the hometown of the kid that just died in Iraq, but had never heard the 'pushed down a flight of stairs' thing. I had thought it was that he slapped her around. However, it had always bothered me that his buddy in the police department sealed the record on that issue. I would think the public trust is more important than sealing those records.

However, I think the Democrats in the state are too meek to demand impeachment. Heck, even the Republicans are looking into impeachment, but the Dems just sit there and smile and say, 'oh, we're researching the impeachment issue'.

Look at all the support the Dem House & Senate gave party nominee Bill Curry in last year's election - zip, none, nil, zilch, nada.

Do a Google search. Type in "Gov.John Rowland Domestic violence" or "Rowland pushes wife down flight of stairs" The Hatford Advocate refers to this ALOT!
