I feel sorry for people outside of eastern Iowa
because you don't have KUNI radio live. But wait! You can get it on the internet. www.KUNIradio.org. They are currently playing tunes from Jesus Christ Superstar. Try finding that on any commercial staion in America. And for those of you who may not like JCSS, they play a wide variety of music.

2. I learned the entire Jesus Christ Superstar
album as a child, because my parents played it all the time. I always liked it, although a lot of people though I was crazy, lol!

3. Always have a soft spot for KUNI
I engineered for them for about 10 years, was Chief Engineer from '86 until '88 when I left to go to grad school in Colorado. I was the one who installed the Mason City transmitter and threw the switch on it for the first time.

I also got most of my musical education from listening to them, on and off duty. Classical in the morning, folk music in the afternoon, a break for ATC on NPR, then jazz, blues, alt rock, reggae and uncategorizable through the evening and into the wee hours. The best station in the state for music, no contest, and in the top three or four I've heard in my travels around the country. Now I'm here in the Iowa City area and listening off the air again on 90.9. Check it out!
