Patti Smith sings "Frederick" and "Because the Night".

I never heard of her hanging out with BOC. Could be. There is also Patty Smythe of Scandal, one-hit "Warrior" fame.

5. I just looked it up. It is her.
She was the girlfriend of Allen Lanier (BOC guitarist/keyboardist) at the time. She wrote or cowrote several of their songs, and acted as a general overall muse for them.

I highly recommend Agents of Fortune, if you want to be really complete in your Patti Smith fandom.
