Anyone recall more of a kid-babble from the 50s, that starts out
"Ladies and gentlemen, I come before to stand behind you and tell you something I know nothing about..."

I have no idea how that popped into my mind - probably hearing Chimpy yammering something insipid earlier today...
;-)

1. "Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice,
Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice!" Was that it?

2. Our version was "britches"
Pull down your britches and slide on the ice.

Then there was:

On the sunny side of France
Where they don't wear pants
They wear grass
To co ver up their ass (of course we giggled when it came to the "ass" part)

google is your pal - I'd never heard this but here are some different versions. It sounds to me like something Groucho Marx might have done.

Ladles and Jellyspoons,
I come before you,
to stand behind you,
and tell you something,
I know nothing about,
Next Thursday, which is Good Friday,
There will be a mothers meeting,
For fathers only,
Wear your best clothes,
If you haven't any,
And if you can come,
Please stay at home,
Admission free,
Pay at the door,
Take a seat,
And sit on the floor,
It makes no differance where you sit,
The man in the gallery is sure to spit.
