Do you think that Bonds has been using steroids?

1. Note that this non-scientific poll isn't legally binding
... unless proposition 24 passes, which we all pray it will

2. You're missing the obvious option:
I have not tested his blood, so I don't know.

3. Maris didn't deserve an asterisk
Bonds & McGwire -- and maybe even Sosa -- do.

4. Maris didn't actually get an asterisk.
He had the record for most home runs in a 161-game season.

Ruth still has the record for most homers in a 154-game season.

6. Well, I understand the idea.
He didn't actually break the record until after the 154-game mark. He was also hitting behind Mantle (also having a great year), so he got a LOT of pitches to hit.

Of course, Ruth was hitting in front of Gehrig, so he also got a lot of pitches to hit.

Maris was not intentionally walked ONCE in 1961. I don't think Ruth was ever intentionally walked in '27, either. Now THAT's incredible! (cue cheesy '80s theme music)
