So I had this job interview today.
And it went fine, at least as far as I could tell. The guy told me that he still has other people to interview for the job, but that he ought to make a hiring decision by the end of the week.

And check this out: the job pays $16 an hour! That would be far and away the most money that my college-dropout ass ever made. The only downside is that my workday would start at 6:00 in the morning; but for $16 an hour, I'd be willing to make the adjustment!

God, I hope I get that job. It would finally mean the end of my financial woes! :bounce:

6. I'd walk in at 6 am and ask him when you can start
unless he happens to be an HR type that starts later.

also if he is not the actual boss, you might call the frontdesk and ask for the name of the Drivers Foreman or manager. then walk in at 6 am and introduce yourself.

Good luck NT

It's one thing to show up in the middle of the wave of the REAL work day for the rest of the world..

But showing up unannounced at DAWN anyplace... is a little creepy.

And going over the decision-maker's head is the FASTEST way to lose any and all credibility with the decision-maker.

You stick with the ONE person who you have been graced to deal with....don't go to the side of them, or above them or below them...

And, again, don't show up when it's still dark outside.. and no one around knows who the hell you are....

Anyhow..hand deliver a hand-written generic thank you card to the guy you interviewed with and do it first thing.... DURING appropriate business hours....

7. If you want to enhance your chances, send him a letter thanking
him for the opportunity to interview. Talk about why you are a good fit and the value you will add to the organization. Close by mentioning that you understand he will be making a decision by week's end and you will call him early next week to see where you stand.

Good luck.
