Ok,
This is a little bizarre.
Earlier today I got an email with the subject "virus". I deleted it as I assumed it was spam. (or a link to a trojan)
About 30 minutes ago I got another email with the subject "re: virus". I decided to pay more attention to it as normally I don't get two emails with the a related subject like that in such a short period of time unless it is non-spam mail. Well the message had no link, no attachment. It simply looked like a "reply all" that had a message apologizing for the previous email. It seemed to suggest the person that sent it got one of those trojans that sends an email to everyone on his address book.
Now here is the creepy part. It was sent to about 15 people, complete will some full names and email addresses. I took a look at them because the email seemed to be legit, and I didn't recoginize the person who sent it to me. Well I recognized several of the names that it was also sent to as the names of religious pastors/priests in my city. (some of the more fundamentalist variety) They are on commercials that are played here on TV frequently, and it's hard not to known their names. I searched yahoo for some of the other names I was not familiar with, and they are apparently known religious individuals as well. I don't think it's a coincidence a fair number of them are in my city.
So now the interesting question... why was I on one of their address books? I'm an atheist and thus I never go to church, and I know I certainly never gave any church or church pastor my email address, nor would they have any reason to have it. I know I certainly don't know any of them.
Totally bizarre.
