Best form of music you've heard (not limited by genre labels)
My choice: classic rock. I just think groups in that genre really did set standards.

Runners up:

Power pop, or pop with a driving rhythm
Motown
Folk
Folk/rock
Rock
Classical

I enjoy everything from country/alt-country/bluegrass to older R&B to true alternative (like Beck and Cat Power) to new age, though. Some artists in those genres are loves.

2. I would have to agree with you on Classic Rock.
Blues and old Jazz really set the standard. Old school rap and metal were great too.

3. Blues and old jazz influenced rock
I was talking about classic rock setting the standard for future rock - at least that's my opinion.

HereÕs an artist that took chances to sound different and NOT like everybody else.

He is one of my musical heroÕs, as I am a musician myself.
