It's 'Global Day' at my University in the Middle-East
Imagine a huge outpouring of energy and creativity (similar to some homecoming football celebrations in the U.S.).

Except it's not about footbal, it's about cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. All the campus clubs and cultural clubs participate. There are also cultural performances throughout the day.

Remember all the "feel good" multi-culturalism of the late 1980's and early '90s-- it's still alive and well in some parts of the world.

And talk about a rich environment-- we have students from 72 different countries.

And irony of ironies, the American cultural club pavillion sits right next to the Repbulic of Iraq.

:)
