For those who love all things Kennedy
Got this press release about a novel in my in-box today:

"How did JFK really get elected back in 1960?

I'll be chatting about the 3 girls who helped him win the Presidental nomination on Thursday, April 15th at 9 pm EDT/6 pm PDT on www.FallenAngelreviews.com

The 1960 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.

Two girls. One white. One black, passing for white.

It was the summer that changed their lives forever.

When Senator John Kennedy was nominated for President at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles in 1960, the young women who worked at the convention were known as "Golden Girl Hostesses." Book Giveaway at the chat!

The girls who worked for Kennedy Headquarters were called Kennedy Girls.

The Kennedy Girls wore flip hairdos, white gloves, and plastic pop-it beads. The term "Ms." didn't exist. According to newspaper photos at the time, all the girls were white. But what if one girl was passing for white so she could fulfill her dream and get into college? What if...and you have THE KENNEDY GIRLS.

Afton -- a wannabe surfer girl whose father coined the term "racist."

Louise -- a black girl from Alabama who can "pass" and wants more than
anything to go to college.

Gillian -- a Philadelphia society girl who will do anything to get what she
wants, even murder.

These are The Kennedy Girls."
