UPDATE for the DU Delegation for the March for Choice

LOGISTICS LOGISTICS LOGISTICS.

This is a freaking crazy march that I'm hoping we'll pull this thing off.

This is the scoop for the meeting up with the DU Delegation for the March for Women on April 25th, 2004.

The delegations are any group of 20 or more folks who want to march together under the same banner. As you know, we have a delegation put together for the Democratic Underground and I have word that our banner is being shipped out this week (they called because I gave them my Visa # and marked it as a MC so we had to clear that one up :eyes: ).

According to the March organizers you MUST have 20 or more members to have your spot reserved on the National Mall. We should have 20 members; however, unlike most delegations all our members will not be showing up as one entire unit.

I'm in contact with the March Organizers to hopefully work out the details to ensure our place with this historic event. I'm going to stay relatively sober at the Philly Party the night before and I'm leaving from Wilmington DE around 6:30 in the morning with the banner to make sure our spot is secure so other DU members can meet up with us.

The rally will be organizing at the National Mall and when you get there you will be given information to locate your delegation. However, I will make arrangements with a member of DU who I will contact the day of the rally once our spot is secure and ask that person to post the information on DU - hopefully sometime around 10am. I'll also make sure that person has my cell phone number to share with anyone who is having problems finding our group.

So the bottom line is folks - work with me here. WE have to have 20 folks in the delegation about I'm secure with about 12-15 folks, but possibly a heck of alot more. I will be sending the email out to those who have replied to get a more official headcount of who will OFFICIALLY be marching with the DU DELEGATION. (although I do want to hear from those of you with other delegations who want to meet up with us).
