Dude, where's the original author?

I got the audiobook of Mikey Moore's "Dude, Where's My Country?" and though I am enjoying it, I was surprised to hear that MM didn't read the book himself. I know the library sometimes gets editions made particularly for the library system, is that the case here, or did the commercial for-sale edition also feature this D. David Moran guy narrating? And if so, why? That seems unlike MM.
