4. that may be the only solution...
I've dealt with some intense jealousy, both towards me and from inside me. It's not a pleasant feeling at all....

sadly I can't say I have any solution, except to stop caring at all..

are we talking about jealous over what someone is doing, or what someone could be doing?

10. ah, the worst kind...
:(

I can see why, though I've learned in life that those feelings often come from feeling insecure, and feeling that your s.o. is around people that are more interesting, fun, attractive, or whatever. It's worse, really, than feeling jealous with a cause (such as having your s.o. get involved w/another person), since it's such an out-of-control situation.

Best advice, I suppose, would be to acknowledge your positives, and convince yourself that you are more desirable than any others she is in contact with.

But that is not easy!!!

18. yeah, acknowledging the issue is a good first step
step 2 would be figuring out how to deal with it, I guess...?

I wonder if you make anyone jealous by posting here and feeling the love :)

6. Find productive things to occupy your intelligent mind... like volunteer
work...

Then you won't have the TIME to be jealous of that which you oughtn't.

And you'd be doing something really, really important.

8. Be kind to the one you're jealous of...
Remember that they're human as you are, and subject to human frailty as well. You may not eliminate jealousy; but you can avoid acting on the feeling; and if you get to know the person, you'll probably find out things which will curb your envy.

Be patient and kind with yourself as well. ~huggggggs~

11. Lots of self understanding...
Jealousy is a normal reaction really when you feel threatened or unsafe in your world. I've experienced it at times when I feel unsettled. Many things your partner does can trigger jealous responses, it really depends on how you perceive your world. Do a search on the web about jealousy, you'll be surprised on how much information is available to understand your own motives and reactions. This isn't really the forum for this sort of discussion, but if you want, I'd be happy to chat with you about it more. I don't want to publish my email address so if you know a way to chat without doing that, let me know. Best of luck...

PS: My problem tends to be anger these days, every day I wake up and realize we have a complete bigoted a-hole running this country and determined to run the world, I get pissed off! It's becoming acute anger syndrome.

13. The more options you give yourself...

the less jealous you will be.

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket, that helps. But everyone gets jealous from time to time especially when dealing with a signifigant other from hell. If the signifigant other makes you feel like shit, it's time to end it and go with plan b.

Basically, always have a plan b.

16. It usually.
originate with insecurity. I have suffered from it all my life, affected all my relationships and then recently I had to look at myself and see why I felt this way. For me it was old feelings of loneliness and abandonment issues as a child. Once I started to see where this feeling was originating from it helped to step back when I felt jealous and realize it was based on old stuff not the stuff that was around me today. Isn't it funny that lousy is part of the word, there no other feeling like jealousy! It can affect even the most rational minds, not that I'm rational!:)

19. Read some self-help books if it is a serious problem
That is what I would do.

I think all humans experience jealousy from time to time, either over people or things.

20. It took nearly losing my life for me to rid myself of it...
then I realized that there is nothing more precious than being able to breathe, laugh, love and just be.
