Pros? Cons? Ideas for a new name vis-a-vis my NC mountain location?

My great-great-great-great uncle was the second president of the Republic of Texas. Mirabeau Bonaparte Lamar. I'm not too proud of him, however. Check out the history books. He ran a pogrom against the American Indians in Texas.
