On Friday, I have a job interview.
I could help fundraise for the Democratic party and various other liberal causes. I would like to be able to do this and succeed for however long I would be doing it. It is part time, so I can still go to grad school if I get the job. Wish me luck.

3. Good luck to you!
I've tried my hand at fundraising and never liked it much. But it would be great to be doing something to help AND getting paid for it.

4. Yeah.
I know what you mean. I have tried selling things to people and I hated it. But this is different. This is about ending our long national nightmare, that is the Bush II years. It would be nice to be able to stand up for what I believe in and this might make me more passionate.

7. Hey, go for it.
Assuming * loses, I've been strongly considering getting active in political campaigns once I get back to the States. At least on a volunteer level to start.

10. sounds wonderful!!!! good luck!!!
Here are some tips from an employment counselor.... role play. Think of interview questions (a google search on "common interview questions" would be good), and practice your answers ahead of time. I am not saying to have SCRIPTED answers, but just practicing formulating responses gets you warmed up for the big event. Also, look up "behavioral interviewing." It's a method being used often, and involves giving you hypotheticals and asking how you would handle it. Being able to recall past examples is a good way to reply.

The number one thing I would suggest is to think ahead about those questions we all HATE, like tell me about one of your weaknesses. Always choose something you can spin positively, such as "I am a perfectionist" or "I have had difficulty delegating duties in the past, but I have learned that good teamwork is a much better way to accomplish goals."

Those may sound hokey to you, but give a little thought to it. I have been asked that question on three interviews myself, so it really does pay to think about it.

Best of luck to you!!!!!

11. I Hope You Get It
Just try to prepare for the interview the best you can; you often "make" your own good luck.

Let us know about your car. There are some decent "shade tree" mechanics here that may be able to offer constructive advice.
