I find that I am often having to refresh my cable modem. My internet connection, for no apparant reason just quits (but the data light still blinks). Any possible things I can check before I call RoadRunner's service dept? I am running a 500 mhz G4 with OS Jaguar. 640 mgs of RAM.
2. When I called Roadrunner, they said to disconnect everything
(cable connection and modem), turn them off, and then reconnect them and turn them on. It was something about the equipment having to reset every so often.
shut down puter - disconnect model from wall - let sit about 10-15 seconds - turn on puter then plug in modem - wait till lights bllink and you should be ok.
I've the same problem. It comes and goes. Sometimes it needs reseting every day. Sometimes I go weeks with no problem.
The excuse I've gotten from my ISP is that it happens with they upgrade their firmware. After each upgrade the cable modem's connection is lost and has to be reestablished by restarting.
