This is true of virtually all movie chase scenes, what's up with the wet streets?

1. Why Are The Terrorists Always Muslim?
Why, when the walls of a house drip blood... don't the occupants just GET THE HELL OUT?

although even in like an oldsmobile commercial, the street is always wet. Maybe it just looks better on film.

9. It could also rain later
If they were shooting with dry streets to begin with and later on it rained they would be screwed.

Rent the DVD of Ronin (prolly you already did) and listen to Frankenheimer's (RIP) commentary. It's what he said.

And it's easier to four-wheel-drift a BMW on cobblestones in the wet. :)

It also helps to be JP Jarier.

Usually it's done for the reflection. I think Scorsese said something about this in a commentary for either Taxi Driver or Bringing out the Dead.

Assuming you meant at night.

11. It just looks better that way.
I used to live in a city where lots of movies were made. The FX crew wets the streets, expecially in the night scenes, because it just looks cool that way.
