Seinfeld peaked (creatively) in it's fourth season.
And probably should have called it quits after the sixth.
Instead we had three more years of deconstructing the genius of the show (Of course even bad Seinfeld was better than anything else out there).

Seinfeld won't come back as a series, but expect a reunion show on either the tenth anniversary of the last episode (in four years) or the twentieth anniversary of the first episode (in five years).

When the show went off the air in '98, Seinfeld himself said that he put the set of Jerry's apartment in storage for the reunion show.
