It hurts my ego a bit to admit it, but I have not been able to get into a deep trance myself. In theory, the more intelligent you are and the more you have the power to focus, the easier you are to hypnotize. I have had much better luck putting a good subject under hypnosis. That said, I'm not impressed by the quality of the information you get back. I think it's confabulations, frankly. A clumsy hypnotist can make you "remember" being abused by Satanists or kidnapped by the Space Brothers or even make you have memories of the future. I wouldn't play with the other two, because it causes harm to create such memories in the subject, but I had little trouble getting "memories" of the future from my best subject. Bottom line, I would no longer consider hypnosis as a means for getting information, I would only use it for relaxing and focusing on breaking a bad habit or addiction. Used for that purpose, hypnosis does wear off. A good subject will not likely give up smoking or chocolate bars forever after one session. But it might be helpful. As far as hypnosis being used for law enforcement and to gain information about crimes, it's a great way to plant information in a victim's mind but not a very good way to get at the truth. Since I don't know why you want to be hypnotized, I'm sort of throwing out all sorts of ideas here -- but basically if you think it will help you remember something, don't do it. Hypnosis creates new memories (confabulations) that will seem very real to you and could change your life and relationships very much for the worse.
