*Sigh*...I was hoping I'd not have to do this...
But I need to ask for good thoughts, prayers, etc...

My younger sister lost her baby today. She was almost past the first trimester (about 2 1/2 months.) I don't know how or why, but I had a feeling this was going to happen. :(

She's 26, been married a little over a year. This was her first pregnancy. I hate that I had this premonition; while I don't feel guilty or anything, it just make me even sadder. I haven't had a chance to talk to her myself yet, but I just got off the phone with my folks, who are devastated. Good thoughts for them, especially my dad (who's not in the best of health) are also appreciated.

2. She will be in my prayers.
After she has done her grieving, she must try again. This happens to first-timers quite often. Heartbreaking. But I will pray for her and her family's recovery earnestly, sending a huge amount of positive energy to surround and comfort her (I'll get my kid to help).

I have neighbors who went through the same thing over a year ago, and last week, they just had a healthy baby boy. I hope that your sister and your family will recover from this loss quickly, and that she'll have the child she wants very soon.

10. Mrs. McLargehuge went through the same thing last year
Please pass on my thoughts and good vibes to your sister. If it helps, remind her that these things are unavoidable sometimes, and it's nothing she nor the father did or didn't do that influenced the miscarriage. It took Mrs. McLargehuge and I a couple of months to truly recover, but the hurt does go away albeit slowly.

I have a lot of friends who have gone through it, and it is always hard. One thing you can do for her is to continue to be there, months and months after... a lot of people assume the grieving process is quick, for many, it is not. So if you can continue to be a loving support, that is wonderful. There are also several wonderful chat boards through geoparent and epregnancy that deal with loss, and then trying to conceive again after loss. They can be immensely supportive and help with working through the loss, and trying again. :hug:

my mom bore a miscarriage prior to my conception. i don't think my mother took it well at all, but if the child wasn't viable, it wasn't viable, and she moved on with her life. i'm an only child. it still kind of creeps me out to think of what could have been.

anyhow, hope she feels ok sooner than later. god knows child-bearing isn't an easy business . . . actually god made it so, according to certain at-times implausible texts.

i extend my condolences.

I'm off to take Ruby (the 3 yr. old) for a visit with my parents...I'm not sure if this is the best timing for such a visit, but they insisted...Anyway, your good wishes and hugs will definitely be making the journey with me. Thanks. :) :hugs:
