Verizon email users

Have they been having any server problems? I'm trying to reach a Verizon email user and getting bounces, and it was fine four days ago.

1. Verizon:s servers seem to go on and off randomly

of course, whenever i call them, there is "nothing wrong" even when I say "then why have I gotten 32 messages saying that 32 different SMTP servers can:t handle my request?"

I like verizon overall - they:re uptime for internet is fantastic, but they:re email servers are the shits, both POP and SMTP.

2. question

A client has Verizon dsl and sometimes has difficulty getting emails out to me. They just "won't go." Sometimes they will, though. Any ideas for an explanation on that?

I have cable. Comcast.

I have the same problem.

And sometimes on getting mail, the POP serves are just "gone" for minutes, sometimes hours, at a time.

But tech support always says, "No, we:re showing that everything is working." So I say, "Tell me, then, why I get a message syaing SMTP server #273 is not responding.* And they say, "I don:t know*. And I say, "Yeah, I know you don:t know. Asses."

grrrrr .. that's to/from two different verizon addys I'm trying to get a message to (I'm not a Verizon user)
