Which of these Deep Purple Albums is better?
In Rock or Machine Head?

Machine Head has their biggest songs and is a very good cohiesive album. But In Rock is pure raw unbridled fast and loose energy.

1. My long ago 14 year old self votes for "Machine Head"
smoking Mexican ditchweed and riding around in a friend's older brother's car (while the older brother was still sleeping off a late Friday night) was much better than Saturday morning cartoons...

I'll for for it. Love Deep Purple. I saw them in concert once in South Florida. They put on a fabulous light show.

3. Set the Wayback Machine, Sherman

and go with Machine Head.

In Rock is a little less "polished", although for pure bang your head against the wall rock nothing beats "Speed King."

"Highway Star" on Machine Head comes close, though.
