Question about IE 6.0 and DU
If I delete cookies and connect to DU using IE6 without logging on the little icons that change from grey to yellow to mark new threads or new posts work as they should and as new replies or threads are posted the icons turn yellow to mark new posts while the icons for unmodified threads remain grey. However once I logon to DU with my username and password all the icons go yellow immediately and in long threads it's a real pain to find the new responses since all the icons are yellow. I've monkeyed around with my IE Internet Options settings and currently have DU in the trusted sites list and also have it setup under the privacy settings to allow all cookies.

Is there something that I am missing that will allow these icons to work properly when I am logged in?

1. U can delete cookies selectively
The cookie is used to keep track of information ... I suspect in this case pages you have already visited. Right click on the internet explorer desk top icon to bring up the properties sheet. Under temporary internet files, click the settings button. That brings up another dialog box ... click view files. Select everything in the explorer window that opens. (Select the first one by left clicking, then do a control-shift-end (hold control and shift and push end). That will select all the cookies. Find the DU cookies and de-select by holding control and clicking. When yer done, push the delete and follow the bouncing ball. All your cookies except the DU cookies will be zapped.

2. Actually it doesn't look like Cookies are the problem.

The situation is if I connect to DU using IE but after I connect I do not logon. The icons work as they are supposed to and they change from grey to yellow only as new threads or responses are posted. However as soon as I logon with my username and password all the icons turn yellow immediately and that makes it difficult to track new posts or responses in the longer threads if I am surfing DU while logged on. I've opened an IE window connected to DU and verified there were no DU cookies when I've done the view files using Internet Options. I opened another IE window and this time logged on to DU, in the window where I was logged on all of the icons immediately turned yellow as per usual. I checked again in Internet Options and once again view files showed still no DU cookies. So I would assume it is not related to a cooky issue.

It's not really that big a deal but it just bugs me that whenever I am logged on, I can't easily tell which responses are new vs. which are old, especially when it comes to the longer threads.
